When
Ultrafox / Chromium Bleu takes his rightful place at center
stage, when he clasps a simple custom microphone with his
firm yet delicate grip, when the room smells faintly of ozone,
lavender and cornmint, when the fanfare is high and the evening
fair, then the audience knows that the golden moment is finally
upon them.
As the young son of man, Ultrafox worshiped
at the altar of Vince Clarke, Werner Von Braun and Conny
Plank. Being naturally prodigious, it wasn't long before his
enthusiasms for the technical and the profane advanced from
"dalliance" to "code red."
He developed interests in science and sailing.
Taking his cue from adventure novels for boys, Ultrafox labored
diligently on a custom space ship, dreaming of glorious scenarios
in distant places. He was fascinated by tales of Shinrui-Ko,
that mythical realm beyond the edge of forever.
Finally the day arrived when his ship was
perfected and he was ready to leave. Provisions, like his
lean, taught physique, were spare: vegan foods, a copy of
Sextoons Magazine, and an elegant silver pulse-pistol.
Ultrafox spent many years searching for the
fabled Empire Of The Senses. An ion storm made him immortal.
Gamma radiation made him wise. Certain alien brutes made him
worldly. Yet it seemed the inscrutable scrolls of fate would
keep him from ever finding Shinrui-Ko.
Years passed and many albums were recorded
at his custom shipboard project studio. Finally he landed
at Shinrui-Ko. Ultrafox became something of a local celebrity.
His songs got radio play. He befriended Argon Protopi who
had himself recently arrived by bus.
